A woman I greatly admire and who I recognized as being one of those soul-family people when we first met recently wrote a blog post on FetLife. It kind of is the zenith to my recent post’s nadir-gazing miasma, and I’ve obtained her permission to repost it here.

The Negress Natters: Late-Night BS Edition.
Late night and I wanna do some yammering, so I asked who was up late night and wanted ta ask me something. Few people aren’t in overstuffed coma mode, but @weebeasty asked me some stuff…now, something went fucked in the recording and part of it wasn’t captured. But I’m disinclined to re-record it. Suffice to say, the second question she asked me was about that which makes me laugh, even after having seen it a bazillion times.
So I’ve put some reference material below…. (more…)

A Lust of Shakespearean Dimensions.
“The Taming of the Shrew” is a problematic show. The main plotline revolving, as it does, around a woman being forced into an arranged marriage to an apparent loony who then proceeds to beat and starve her into submission. Literally.
There is another plotline but that shit is boring and I don’t give a motherfuck about Bianca. Fuck that ho.
I’ve seen “Shrew” done many times. Most memorably while I was working at the New York Shakespeare Festival, and we produced it for the Delacorte summer season. Morgan Freeman and Tracy Ullman played the raucous couple. I was interested to learn that the show was controversial even back in the day, and of course Katerina’s final speech is still debated. Was she truly broken? Sarcastic? Complicit with Pertruchio in order to secure the loot on offer from the “gentleman’s” bet about which wife would be most obedient when the assembled husbands demand their obedience?
This is all debatable. But dammit. I really wanna star in that play! (more…)
Less is More.
This one is the total fault of @sexisfuncoochie. That’s what you get for asking an innocent question.
OK. Um, Mo here, talking about being (mostly) mono in a poly world. And by “poly world” I mean the BDSM community as I experience it.
I’ve been around a while, and I am not a shrinking violet when it comes to hopping around the country chilling with my Leather and Kinky and Sex Positive and Freaky Peeps. And due to this, many assume I play all the time, everywhere.
This is not the case.

The Negress Natters: On BDSM & Race Play.
Look, Ma! New Tech!
Welcome to what will probably be a new regular feature on The Perverted Negress!
I can talk and you can listen and I don’t have to fucking type. What’s not to LOVE?!
Check out the post on race play inspired by Jaki, who sent me a message on FetLife and then motivated me to respond.
Now, with no further buttfuckery, you can listen to me nattering for a bit here!
Obviously, this isn’t comprehensive but I hope it gives a little insight to interested parties and the curious. Feel free to post your comments, but be advised, asshole douchebaggery won’t be tolerated. I will hex you. Srsly.
Love and fluffybunbuns!

Rope rants.
The subject of the most recent Graydancer’s Ropecast included a rant (which isn’t all that ranty, so if you are hoping for spittle-flying desk-pounding histrionics, you’ll be sorely disappointed. I kinda was hoping for some heavy breathing and shouting, but noooooo…) about the difficulty of teaching suspension bondage in the environment of a broad-spectrum BDSM event.
To get it from the old goat’s mouth, go here:
(and if you want to hear the BEST ROPECAST EVAR!!1!! go here)
To paraphrase: the thrust of his rant seems to be that it is near to impossible to teach suspension well in the context of a short-form class. There are too many skills involved to really do the thing right. In a mid/advanced-level rope-specific setting, with several hours allocated, small classes and multiple instructors, he beleives a class on suspension would seem to be more feasible.
This is partially due to the fact that many, many people attending cons might be dabbling in playstyles with which they have little to no familiarity, and zero experience.
Gray pondered the core issue of someone who possessed no rope of their own and had never done any rope bondage deciding that they wanted to take a suspension class. The issue being, you know too little: why would you think you could do this at all? Seems kind of presumptuous to jump in to one of the most complex types of rope bondage there is on your first go, right? (more…)

Yesterday afternoon I was walking through the lobby of the Beyond Leather host hotel here in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Not long after teaching my second class of the day, I found myself in an intriguing exchange with a dashing salt-and-pepper haired gentleman of British extraction. He was holding my hand and pressing his lips to the back of [...]

So often one wonders how they wind up who they are. At least I do. I will be in a moment, living, thinking, doing whatever it is I’m doing and then part of my consciousness will pull back for a moment and say to the rest of my consciousness “Whoah. Really? Is this really happening? [...]

I was fortunate enough to spend the waning days of the Bush epoch fail in my hometown. It was even MORE fortunate that I was able to meet some of my new friends, as well as old friends. And the cherry on top was that Rachel Kramer-Bussell’s shindig In The Flesh was catered with [...]
